This sound compositing symbolizes the journey of a data packet through the Internet, how it is shifted back and forth by control signals and servers, in order to finally arrive at its destination; extended to a good three minutes. For this purpose, I downloaded some pictures from various sites and freely accessible data from FTP servers, so that I could open them as WAV files, as sounds, manipulate them and play with them. Putting them in sequences and sampling them resulted in the rhythm that I like to call the “Pulsation of the Internet”. There is a simple, but seemingly random melody flowing along in this, which disappears towards the end. Maybe a kind of “guardian angel” for a data packet?

There were really no bigger problems, except that most of the pictures and files just didn’t sound right, so I couldn’t use them. So I spent a long time searching, but in my opinion, it was worth it. I certainly wouldn't call my work “easy listening”, because if you listen to it repeatedly, it starts to hurt your ears. However, it is an interesting way of exploring the digital world and its sounds.
