system interrupted is set in a future where all processes are controlled by a gigantic, central computer network. This network is regulated by a main computer. When this computer takes on a life of its own, the entire network goes haywire - humanity is in danger and, what is more, totally defenseless. So a kind of soldier is sent out who should fight his way through to the main computer and place an EMP bomb there. Through the electromagnetic impulse of this bomb, the main computer - and along with it the entire network - is to switch off for a second, long enough to reconfigure the system. I first had the idea for system interrupted in mid-2002. I then made some initial sketches. In the summer I started toying with the idea of making a game out of it. In November I began the whole project all over again, as an animation. After about 10 to 12 weeks I had finally completed system interrupted.
