Cafard is a five minute long cg short depicting the unexpected trip of a blazé executive on his way back from work. This film-noiresque piece was collaboratively directed by three young talents as their graduation work for the French renowned school Supinfocom in the space of one year.

Boasting a strong black and white look and immersive storytelling, the short takes its character and audience to an unexpected, though unavoidable, destination. Evolving smoothly from classic American 50's style to early century German-European expressionism, the piece is ruled by its central twist. The surrounding screenplay uncovers a mirror construction that sets the storyline on its implacable course.

The central theme involves introspective questioning and investigates plastic and the moral identity of film and as well as the characters retrospectively. Like narcissistic occasions fitted into collective link, it's between the shots that the affect, and effect, is to be experienced.
