HONORARY MENTION
Piep!
Gruppe Piep, Diehlgasse

Vogel Piep (Bird Peep) is looking for friends and a nest in which he can stay, but no one will take him in! Drawing and cutting out everything was a lot of work.

“It was an exciting film project, first the birds were white—and then, suddenly black.” (Ibrahim)

“It was exciting to watch the monitor and see how the birds moved.” (Timur)

“I didn’t know that making a cartoon is so hard and takes so long. It was really hard to get the shape of the birds right. And adjusting their movements was especially difficult. As cameraman I had lots to do—so many individual takes! A mistake would have ruined the film.” (Yasin)

“Designing the trees, drawing the nests and cutting out the birds was all really hard. We also needed lots of technical material, we had to set up the television, the camera and all the cables. I was shaking when I had to move the birds, that wasn’t good! The hardest thing was that we had to act as if the birds could speak, but without words, just by moving their heads.” (Murat)
