Das Kindergartenspiel

In a team of four, we programmed an educational computer game for kindergarten children who were soon to begin elementary school. Through play, the kids learn about their environment while covering pre-school material. This software promotes the responsible use of computers and was developed together with a qualified kindergarten teacher. The game has been divided up into four fields: nature, humans, animals, and form and color. Rudi the caterpillar takes the kids through some 50 exercises, which have been set to music and illustrated in a way suited for children. The CD comes with 20 exercise sheets in a folder. We drew the graphics for the program by hand ourselves. Afterwards we scanned them into the computer and modified them.

The project was realized as a graduation project at the HAK Steyr, a commercial college. In addition to the folders with the CD-ROMs and the work sheets, we organized an information evening for kindergarten teachers from Steyr and interested parents whose children would soon be starting school; in addition, we created a folder, a poster and a homepage.
