HONORARY MENTION
onde sonore
Martina Stiftinger
In the fictitious world of onde sonore, everything revolves around the idea of the circle and the cycle. This concept is reflected in both the film’s narrative and visuals.
The plot subtly unfolds on two levels. On the surface, a rather metaphoric tale is spun. At its core is a cycle: puffer fish can be seen swimming in the sound waves made by music from a gramophone. To keep them alive, the gramophone has to be set in motion again every time the record is over.
In a broad sense, a plot develops that can, at least theoretically, continue forever. The end of the film is always ready to connect with the beginning again.
Visually, a 360-degree view conveys a sense of the cycle that constitutes the film’s content. A Miller cylindrical projection is used to map the 360-degree panorama.
