Stay Cool, Dude: Super Summer Vacation Program at the Museum of the Future
The Ars Electronica Center’s great lineup of activities during school break means that you won’t be coming down with a bad case of the summertime blues!

Check this out, Museum of the Future fans: Guided tours, workshops geared to a wide range of age groups and interests, and insider info about the leading edge of high-tech are yours for the asking this summer.

Interactive-Creative Days at the Museum of the Future
Take tours, workshops, expeditions through virtual worlds and, amidst all the fun, learn a thing or two about the technologies of tomorrow—that’s what Interactive-Creative Days at the Ars Electronica Center are all about. After the tour, attendees split up into workshop groups based on age and interest. Options include programming robots, doing animation, developing narratives and action figures for virtual worlds, or going on a puzzle rallye through the Museum of the Future. Vacation fun is guaranteed!
Time: 12.07., 19.07., 26.07., 02.08., 09.08.: 10AM - 2 PM

World Editor – Design Your Own CAVE World
(Workshop)
In the Simulation Lab, your dream of custom-designing your own artificial world can finally become a reality! Special high-performance software makes generating amazing landscapes, action figures and objects a hassle-free creative experience. Photos or drawings can serve as models, and sound bites can be added to the mix to generate an atmosphere that’s out of this world. At the end of the creative process comes the opportunity to experience the incredible results in 3D.
Time: 12.07., 03.08., 10.08.: 1 PM - 5 PM
Ages: 10 - 15 years

Put Yourself in the Picture! Girls only
This workshop introduces girls to the wonderful world of digital photography and computerized image processing.
Time: 13. 07., 20. 07., 27.07.: 10 AM - 1 PM
Ages: 12 - 16 years
Fee: € 10 (admission included)


Puzzle Rallye (Special Tour)
Following a tour of the Ars Electronica Center, a computer poses tricky questions about the Museum of the Future’s installations and exhibits. Meanwhile, the puzzle clock is running—the competitor who’s the first to come up with the right solution earns the most points. The winner takes home a small gift as a memento of the occasion.
Time: Every Sunday 11 AM - 1 PM
Ages: 9 - 13 years

Journey of Adventure (Children’s Tour)
This tour is specially designed for youngsters: experience fantastic 3D worlds, slurp virtual drinks and have some hands-on fun with cool high-tech gear. Your souvenir will arrive home attached to an e-mail: an image documenting your sojourn in “Gulliver’s World.”
Time: Every day during the Upper Austrian Summer Vacation and during the opening hours of the museum. 2 PM - 3:30 PM
Ages: 5-10 years
Fee: € 4,00 (admission included)

The Museum of the Future will be temporarily closed to the public during the period August 14-29, 2006 to enable remodeling work to be done in preparation for the 2006 Ars Electronica Festival.

30.08.06: On the day before the festival begins, the Ars Electronica Center opens its doors to the general public to premiere all the new installations. Time: 10 AM - 7 PM (free admission)
