Ars Electronica Futurelab in Hong Kong
The world premiere of “Apparition II,” a dance and media performance created by Klaus Obermaier in collaboration with the Ars Electronica Futurelab is set for September 16 in Hong Kong.
Linz (September 15, 2006) “Apparition II” is an extraordinary dance and media performance that integrates interactive sensor and tracking technology in an innovative way that enables the dancers to influence the music and visuals that accompany their movements. The performance is based on “Apparition,” a highly praised piece that dancer Matthew Smith has now reprised and endowed with a new aesthetic quality.
This project has been developed jointly by Viennese composer/media artist Klaus Obermaier and Linz’s Ars Electronica Futurelab. It will be performed September 16 & 17 at the Kwai Tsing Theatre in Hong Kong.
