Sounds of Water
In conjunction with UNESCO’s global “Sounds of Water” project, students at Linz’s Peuerbach High School have undertaken an encounter with water as the medium of life. “LebensMittel Wasser” was supported by the Ars Electronica Center and the Linz Art University. On Wednesday, February 28, 2007 the youngsters presented their work at the Museum of the Future.

15 Class 1c students at Linz’s Peuerbach High School were involved with “LebensMittel Wasser” from December 2006 to February 2007. Guidance was provided by the UNESCO YDV educator’s kit, which utilizes digital tools for developing content and doing creative design work on specific issues. What the youngsters came up with is a delight to the eyes and the ears. All of their “Sounds of Water” are available online at www.hotspotlinz.at, with the locations where the material was recorded specified on WikiMap Linz. These sound experiments, visual impressions and texts are thus accessible by the general public as well as the other working groups all over the world who likewise took part in this UNESCO project. On Wednesday, February 28, 2007, the Peuerbach High School students presented their work at the Ars Electronica Center.
