Science Communication – Science in School A one-day conference at the Ars Electronica Center presents contemporary ways of facilitating students’ encounters with science.
What challenges do we face when we seek to impart scientific knowledge in an innovative, contemporary way? This question will occupy the focal point of “Science Communication – Science in School,” a conference being staged at the Ars Electronica Center Linz on December 4, 2007. Experts will present projects that illustrate exemplary collaboration among R&D facilities, institutions of higher education, museums and schools, projects that strive to actively involve all participants as a means of engendering enthusiasm for science and research and of launching a productive dialog between science and society. The conference will also showcase two successful initiatives in this area—the Science Center Network and IMST—as well as EU-subsidized projects, nationwide networks and measures sponsored by various federal ministries.
This one-day conference in the Ars Electronica Center Linz is part of a nationwide event being staged in Austria to mark the conclusion of Discovery Day - Discover IT. “Science Communication – Science in School” is being organized by the Ars Electronica Center Linz on behalf of BM:UKK–The Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture. The Science Center Network is a cooperating partner. This event is sponsored by the European Union.
