Plus, a small in-house museum features prototypes and mock-ups that deliver interesting insights into the inventor’s world.

This will be a colorful show indeed! The u19 Exhibit features this year’s 15 winners in the Prix Ars Electronica’s u19 – freestyle computing category. One very special project is Weltherberge Schulhaus (World Hostel Schoolhouse), a multipart installation produced collaboratively by two Upper Austrian schools, Linz High School for Artistic Design (AT) and Leonding Polytechnic School (AT). Part of this intelligent furniture grouping is a bed with a sensor-studded pillow that resembles a book and can be browsed through. There’s also a room partition that initiates communication with visitors as well as a table with the impressions of various everyday objects. Touching them produces sounds that can be combined over and over again into new compositions.
