IIE – Interactive Infrasonic Environment

I/I/E plays with vibrations and acoustic energies that originate from the infrasonic frequency range—tones and noises that are too low to be heard by the human ear. If sonic pressure (i.e. volume) is high enough, though, infrasonic waves can be felt. The literally unheard sounds of the Interactive Infrasonic Environment are produced by a six-meter-long organ pipe and a wind machine.

IMPORT/EXPORT

IMPORT/EXPORT transforms statistics into human beings. It looks into the daydreams, life dreams and nightmares of kids, young people and adults from different cultures living in Austria. The results are stories from the realm of tension and interplay of our multicultural everyday life, narratives that tell of being a stranger and thereby reflect on what it means to have a homeland.

Viertelwelten

Small-scale conquests / Kids on the block. Viertelwelten focuses on outlying districts, the parts of town often dismissed as insignificant parts of the city but whose diversity or uniformity turns out to be a decisive determinant of a city’s character. Viertelwelten isn’t an exhibition trying to get something across to kids. Instead, it regards kids as the experts, and the messages are addressed to adults.
