Workshop Green Days 2011

24.05.2011

Sustainability is one of the biggest challenges we are facing at the moment. The question is how we can find ways to go on with our lifes or improve them without ruining our environment. Although there are quite a few organisations and initiatives focussing on this topic, there’s still quite a way to go.

JUMP is an organisation which spezializes on organising out-of-school-workshops to create interest in the young ones on how to realize projects and ideas in the field of environment, interest that is still not too well spread. They also try to sharpen the consciousness of what our impact on the world actually is. Find out more about JUMP here.

During the CREATE YOUR WORLD-Festival, they will be organizing a workshop.

Get.Ideas – Creativity Techniques as Pathways to Project Ideas
Create Your World, September 1, 2011, 10 AM-5 PM

Workshop Producer:
JUMP is an independent initiative that stages a wide variety of projects and courses having to do with the environment and sustainability. Its aim is to get young people involved and interconnected.
For additional info about JUMP, go to www.jugendumweltplattform.at.

Target Group:
Are you interested in getting active on behalf of the environment and sustainability, developing ideas, launching your own project, and getting acquainted with a wide array of creativity techniques?
If you’re also at least 16 years old, then the Get.Ideas workshop is just the thing for you!

Description:
Get.Ideas is a workshop that will give you an introduction to and hands-on experience with various creativity techniques. But this isn’t just a matter of brainstorming; small groups of participants will develop concrete project ideas related to the environment and sustainability. What, who and how will be decided by the participants themselves on the basis of their individual input.
From brainwriting in which everyone brings in his/her own personal interests and skills, to a Think Big! provocation and a Group Brain Cell stimulus session, the watchwords are: Creativity is everywhere, and the projects that will be spinoffs of this workshop really can change the world—at least one’s own personal part of it and perhaps much, much more!

Up to 30 young people can take part in the workshop. It will be conducted in an open lab situation and thereby also offer other visitors insights into the creative process and, to some extent, interaction possibilities.

This workshop is designed not only to nurture the formation of project crews; it’s also meant to encourage young people to be creative and to develop authentic youth projects for a society with a viable future.

Results:
The project ideas that are generated will be presented at the end of the workshop. Plus, they can also be developed further in conjunction with JUMP’s Green Days project and ultimately be submitted for funding (up to €300) by the Micro:Project:Fund.
Complete info about Green Days is available at www.jugendumwelt.at/greendays.

The project idea can be implemented by the end of August 2012, whereupon it can be presented as a best practice case at Create Your World 2012 and Green Days 2012.
