Radio FRO nimmt diese Frage als Ausgangspunkt für eine öffentliche Podiumsdiskussion während der ARS Electronica 2011. Im Rahmen des Projekts „Media Machine – Ein- und Angriffe migrantischer Medienproduktion“ widmet sich Radio FRO den Möglichkeiten von MigrantInnen in öffentlichen Diskussionen partizipieren zu können. In dem Gespräch, das von Vina Yun (migrazine.at) moderiert wird, kommen ExpertInnen zum Thema Migration und Freie Medien zu Wort. Zudem soll die Rolle Freier Medien in diesem Kontext kritisch hinterfragt werden. Es ist ein wesentliches Anliegen, das Thema Migration und Freie Medien in einer öffentlichen Auseinandersetzung neu zu positionieren.

The artists and scientists participating in Ars Electronica aren’t the only ones working on fascinating projects; many festivalgoers are too. Scenes & Structures provides a setting at Ars Electronica 2011 for them to show what they’re committed to, their ideas and initiatives. The venue is the Ars Electronica Center’s Seminarraum, a space equipped with state-of-the-art presentation technology. One highlight: Christine Sauter (DE) will spotlight her Media Art Documentation project on Sunday, September 4 from 6 to 8 PM. There’s lots to see here—check out the schedule!
