The Mobile Ö1 Atelier will be set up on Linz’s Main Square (Hauptplatz) to mediate the encounter with science and the men and women behind the discoveries. Experts explain why basic research is so important and what sort of creative scope and developmental possibilities result from it. As a special treat for young people attending u19 CREATE YOUR WORLD, the Mobile Ö1 Atelier will host a simulcast of lectures from KinderUniSteyr on Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1.

In conjunction with the Ö1 Kinderuni, scientists will be appearing at the Mobile Ö1 Atelier on Linz’s Main Square to talk about research in the areas of bionics, astronomy, particle physics and quantum physics. Ö1 Kinderuni reporters will then go into more detail about the hows and whys of scientific research. The ingenuous questions posed by these 7-12-year-olds provide entrée to encounters with scientific topics in a way that is interesting and understandable for young and old alike. Ö1 Kinderuni reports are aired regularly on Sundays at 5:10 PM on Radio Österreich 1.
