The Electronic Theater is a fascinating presentation of all 15 prizewinning works in the 2012 Prix Ars Electronica’s Computer Animation/Film/VFX category.

The OK Night lineup of concerts, acoustic presentations and performances gets underway at 10:30 PM on the Mediendeck and in Solaris. One of the highlights is a project that earned an Honorary Mention in the Prix Ars Electronica’s Digital Musics & Sound Art category: Benoît and the Mandelbrots starring artists Juan A. Romero (CO), Holger Ballweg, Patrick Borgeat and Matthias Schneiderbanger (DE).

The Shash Records Showcase is jam-packed with talent: Dot (SI), Stickz live (AT), Valabaluza (AT), Andaka (AT), Lowa (AT) and Abby Lee Tee (AT). Das Gegenlicht (AT) sees to the visuals.

Playing and performing from 10:30 to 11:30 PM in the CyberArts 2012 exhibition space dedicated to works in the Digital Musics & Sound Art category are: Tarik Barri (NL) and Anselm Venezian Nehls (DE), whose #tweetscapes – a HEAVYLISTENING experience was honored with an Award Of Distinction; Anke Eckardt (DE), who garnered an Honorary Mention for BETWEEN | YOU | AND | ME; and Tom Verbruggen (NL), who’s likewise taking home an Honorary Mention for Crackle-canvas #1.

The OK Night program also includes Matthias Haenisch (processed tenor & soprano saxophones, live electronics / DE), Toma Ivanov (guitars, live electronics / AT) & Roman Lugmayr (drums, live electronics / AT).
