(Linz, November 25, 2013) A fascinating talk about the human genome project and experimental audiovisual performances are on tap for visitors to the Ars Electronica Center this coming Thursday. At 6:30 PM, Dr. Manuel Selg, scientific director of the “Project Genesis – Life from the Lab” exhibition, will discuss the major objectives of synthetic biology. At 8 PM, Deep Space LIVE will be the setting for five audiovisual performances by Fujui Wang, Chang-Yen-Tzu, Wang Lien-Cheng, Jorge Sánchez-Chiong and Christoph Frey. These renowned sound artists are presented by the group radio433.
Dr. Manuel Selg
Manuel Selg is professor of molecular biology in the Department of Technology and Environmental Sciences at the Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences’ Wels Campus. He was instrumental in setting up the Ars Electronica Center’s BioLab and has taken over as scientific director of Project Genesis.
