Brain Research and Hidden Beauty

(Linz, March 8, 2016) Brain researchers’ latest findings on the subject of free will occupy the focal point at the next Brains for Everybody featuring Dr. Manuela Macedonia this Thursday, March 10th at 6:30 PM. Then at 8 PM, Deep Space 8K will host a visually stunning presentation staged in conjunction with the NEXTCOMIC Festival—12 illustrators screening their graphic takes on the topic of hidden beauty. Visitors who’d like to contribute their own images to this exhibition are cordially invited to get busy at the Ars Electronica Center’s FabLab.
About Manuela Macedonia
The lecture series “Brain for Everybody” is dedicated to the current scientific knowledge and methods of brain research. Dr. Manuela Macedonia is a scientist at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzip for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and part of the working group “Neuronal Mechanismus of Human Communication”. With some colleagues she has founded “Neuroscience for Your – Institute for Knowledge Transfer from Neuroscience”. Her target is to give insights into current brain research for interested lay audience.
NEXTCOMIC Festival
NEXTCOMIC, the only festival of its kind in Austria, has been held annually since 2009 in Linz. In addition to comics, the exhibits on display at NEXTCOMIC include material having to do with graphic arts, character design, architecture, film, music, design, animation and intermediality. One of the festival’s main missions is nurturing the Austrian comics scene.
