Deep Space LIVE: Europe’s Green Roof

(Linz, October 24, 2016) Europe’s largest contiguous expanse of forest is the subject of the next Deep Space LIVE event this coming Thursday evening, October 27th. Berndt Fischer, a German animal & nature photographer, will present “Europe’s Green Roof,” a collection of breathtaking shots taken along the previously inaccessible perimeter of the Czech Republic—from Germany’s Fichtel Mountains to the Bohemian Woods of Upper Austria.
About Berndt Fischer
Berndt Fischer was born in 1949. For over 40 years, he’s been photographing natural landscapes and animals as well as cities and people. His first publication, “Paris – Zauber einer Stadt,” was the result of a three-year encounter with the enchantment of the French capital. Since then, he’s published five more collections of photographs, countless pictorial essays about his adopted homeland, France, and gone on photo safaris to four continents. A self-taught photographer, Fischer is a political activist for whom images constitute a means of fighting against the ongoing destruction of nature.
Deep Space LIVE
The Ars Electronica Center hosts a Deep Space LIVE event every Thursday (except holidays) at 8 PM. Each presentation features ultra-high-definition imagery in 16×9-meter format and is accompanied by expert commentary, entertaining stand-up repartee, or musical improvisation. Whether great works from the history of art, space travel, journeys of discovery in the nano-world or a live concert is what you’ve come to behold, Deep Space LIVE stands for enlightening entertainment amidst breathtaking worlds of imagery. Holders of a valid Museum ticket are admitted free of charge.
