Deep Space LIVE: FAKE NEWS – How to protect yourself from false reports in the media

(Linz, February 25, 2019) Which term first appeared at the beginning of the 1890s and experienced such a renaissance thanks to a president in 2017 that it was voted “Word of the Year” by Collins Dictionary? The correct answer is “Fake News”. At Deep Space LIVE this Thursday evening, February 28, 2019, Sissi Kaiser and Tom Beyer from bildmanipulation.at talk about the strategies behind Fake News. They also show how the manipulation of messages and images can be uncovered and what tools are available. Start is at 7 PM.
Sissi Kaiser
Studied art history, music, communication and media sciences at the University of Salzburg as well as cultural management and multimedia art therapy. For more than 25 years she has been active in the film/cinema and media sector as well as in the transfer of knowledge. In addition, she is a co-founder of national and international projects, especially in the team and youth sector, and has worked on numerous short films and commercials in various functions – from conception to assistant director to producer. She has been a business partner of saferinternet.at for many years and holds workshops on cyberbullying for 4YOUgend.
Tom Beyer
Tom Beyer spent more than 20 years in senior positions in marketing, sales and advertising. He is the founder of BESA-Die Suchprofis, a professional internet research company. He is in charge of various projects on technology and the environment for adults, teenagers and children and gives trainings and lectures with a special focus on new media.
