(Linz, 16.9.2019) Diving pioneer, scientist, visionary and environmentalist: Thursday, 19.9.2019, Deep Space LIVE is dedicated to the Austrian diver and filmmaker Hans Hass. From 7 p.m. on, underwater photographer Peter Pflügl will give an insight into the untiring work of Hans Hass, whose films and photos first demonstrated the beauty of the underwater world to countless people and called for the protection of the oceans decades ago.

The Linz nature photographer, adventurer, author and multiple gold medal winner at major photo competitions has been at home in all the world’s oceans for more than thirty years and has already completed over 6000 dives. Successful underwater photography is no coincidence for Pflügl: “They presuppose that the human intruder respects the laws of this other world.
Deep Space LIVE
Every Thursday, 7 p.m. (except public holidays), the Ars Electronica Center invites you to a Deep Space LIVE. High-resolution images in 16 by 9 meter format will be combined with expert commentary, entertaining double conferences and musical improvisation. Whether it’s art-historical tracing, space flight, a voyage of discovery into the nanoworld or a LIVE concert – Deep Space LIVE stands for enlightening entertainment amidst impressive visual worlds. Admission costs €3. With a valid museum ticket, the visit is free of charge.
