(Vienna, August 24, 2011) “ORIGIN – How It All Begins” is the title of the 2011 Ars Electronica Festival that spotlights leading-edge research on the fundamentals of the cosmos. On board this year is a renowned associate: CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. This year’s highlights include an electrifying opening event on the Main Deck of the Ars Electronica Center, an excursion to Upper Austria’s perplexing Hausruck region, CREATE YOUR WORLD, a festival especially for young people, a symposium that will bring top international scientists to the Brucknerhaus, a fascinating CyberArts show at the OK, and an all-night sound installation in St. Mary’s Cathedral orchestrated by Sam Auinger, this year’s featured artist.
