FamilyDays at Ars Electronica Center Linz
Saturday, January 21 & Sunday, January 22, 2012 / 10 AM-6 PM

(Linz, January 18, 2012) It’s time for Family Days at the Ars Electronica Center once again this weekend. January 21-22 from 10 AM to 6 PM, we’re hosting a full lineup of events including tours designed with families in mind. Youngsters—and their chaperones too—can take part in a Puzzle Rallye that gets across lots of cool stuff about the Ars Electronica Center. In Deep Space, the Linz dance theater Helix presents “The King’s Last Move,” a detective story/dance piece for kids age 5 and up.

Here’s a program overview:

Family Tour
Saturday & Sunday 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM / Duration: 90 minutes

Here’s something the whole family can enjoy together! A journey of discovery through the Museum of the Future opens up entertaining and, above all, astounding insights into the world we live in today—and prospects for the world of tomorrow. Among the attractions awaiting you in the new RoboLab are a telecommunications android, a baby seal robot and a designer dress that changes colors and patterns like a chameleon.

Deep Space Family: The King’s Last Move
Saturday & Sunday, 2 PM and 4 PM

Helix, the Linz dance theater, presents excerpts from “The King’s Last Move,” a detective story/dance piece produced in cooperation with Ars Electronica especially for Deep Space. The work will premiere at the SCHÄXPIR Theater Festival. For kids age 5 and up.

Family Parcours
Saturday & Sunday, Begin at any time / Duration: about 3 hours

The Family Parcours is just the thing for folks who want to discover the Museum of the Future on their own. A parcours map and a healthy portion of curiosity are all kids and parents need on this joint outing through all the different areas of the Ars Electronica Center.
