AE Solutions’ Shadowgram Makes a Statement at actb 2012
(Linz, January 21, 2012) This year’s actb–Austrian and Central European Travel Business trade show is running January 22-24 in Vienna. AE Solutions is on the scene with Shadowgram, an interactive installation commissioned by Österreich Werbung, Austria’s national tourism organization.

Shadowgram is an innovative mode of “social brainstorming.” First, a user stands before a light panel and is photographed. The result is a silhouette image that can be printed out as a mini-sticker and then applied to a “map.” Finally, the image is complemented by a stick-on speech balloon containing a personal statement. Grouped in preset thematic clusters—for the actb, selected sightseeing highlights and hotspots that appeal to tourists—the silhouettes and their speech balloons thus give a general impression of prevailing opinions, and manifest critique or agreement. Shadowgram has garnered rave reviews at its previous appearances in Tokyo, Venice, Vienna and Linz.
actb 2012
actb is running January 22-24, 2012 in Halls C and D of Vienna’s Messe Wien trade show facility. It’s produced jointly by the national tourism organizations of Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Slovakia, as well as the Danube Tourist Commission and its member states: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Rumania and the Republic of Moldova. The actb is a tourist marketplace, industry meeting point and impulse setter. Besides its commercial use, it is also primarily a platform for generating new networks, initiating business deals and reinforcing existing customer relations. The actb offers the opportunity to generate new buyer classes and, as a one-stop shopping approach, to be a sales generator itself as trade fair.
