The Flood, metaphor for apocalypse and primal myth not only in Western culture, is a theme with great contemporary relevance. Sintflut ('flood') is a composition for orchestra and computer, visually staged as a video triptych. Based on the apocryphal book Henoch, the project is a blend of Akkadian, Hellenistic and Yahwist flood legends. Henoch, God’s scribe, antediluvian patriarch and ancestor of Noah, makes his way on a dream-journey during which mythological figures and chimeras appear to him and bear witness to human conceit.
