The Hidden World of Noise and Voice

Ars Electronica Center, 7.9.02  - 12.9.02, daily 10:00 - 21:00

A multi-user augmented-reality system that makes the acoustic space that constantly envelops us visible in a playful and surprising form. The Hidden World of Noise and Voice is a roundtable conversation for six participants outfitted with so-called see-through data glasses. A conversation at the roundtable appears as a virtual sculpture shaped by its own voice. This is not merely a matter of establishing a communications space into which one can toss words, so to speak; users are also able to impart a shape to their own voices.

Realized by Golan Levin/USA, Zachary Lieberman/USA, Christopher Lindinger/A, Michael Breidenbrücker/A, Dietmar Offenhuber/A, Horst Hörtner/A, Gerfried Stocker/A, Robert Abt/A, Stefan Mittlböck/A, Robert Praxmarer/A, , Wolfgang Ziegler/A, Peter Freudling/A.
