We Fall confronts us with a recent tragedy. Projected onto a transparent screen are films from Flash News on CNN— material that was released by the kidnappers of Daniel Pearl, the journalist working for the Wall Street Journal who was abducted on January 23, 2002 in Karachi, Pakistan. A second screen intermittently reflects white light. Dotan sees his work as an interface between real and virtual space—a statement about the nature of news and information.
