Joshua Davis: Net Vision/Net Excellence Jury Member

At Prix Ars Electronica 2001, Joshua Davis (USA) has been awarded the Golden Nica in the category 'Net Excellence' for Praystation, a showcase for experimental interface design where he pursues the goal of implementing a creative use of technology and design in daily modules. This year he is himself member of the Jury.

Joshua Davis is a New York artist and technologist producing both public and private work on and off the Web. He is currently an instructor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and lectures globally on his work, inspirations and motivations.

Joshua Davis runs Praystation as a one-man research and development web-site. Its objective is to apply design and technology into a collection of small, sometimes daily, modules - is incubating a lifestyle, a mentality, living with anomalies: It is a 'deviation' from the common rule, it is 'irregularity', something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified), producing work in a world that is under constant flux and change.
