Prix Ars Electronica Jury Meeting

On April 19 starts the Prix Ars Electronica Jury meeting. During three days five juries in the categories Net Vision/Net Excellence, Interactive Art, Computer Animation/Visual Effects, Digital Musics and cybergeneration-u19 will have to judge more than 2300 entries.

In each of the competition categories the juries will nominate three works for the Golden Nica, only in the category Net Vision/Net Excellence they have to nominate six. In addition, the juries may distinguish as many as 12 Honorary Mentions in each of the competition categories. The total prize money for the Prix Ars Electronica 2002 amounts to Euro 100,000.

The Jury 'Net Vision/Net Excellence' are Tina Cassani & Bruno Beusch (F), Joichi Ito (J), Pete Barr-Watson (GB), Tanja Diezmann (D) and Joshua Davis (USA). In the Jury for Interactive Art Hiroshi Ishii (J), Peter Higgins (GB), Masuyama (J), Christa Sommerer (A) and Alex Adriaansens (NL) will judge the entries. In the Jury 'Computer Animation/Visual Effects' participate Barbara Robertson (USA), Bill Buxton (CDN), Stuart Maschwitz (USA), Rick Sayre (USA) and Rita Street (USA). The Jury 'Digital Musics' consists of bLectum from bLechdom (USA), Tony Herrington (GB), Naut Humon (USA), Florian Hecker (D) and Chris Watson (GB). The works of young people under 19 from Austria will be judged by Sirikit Amman, Barbara Lippe, Horst Hörtner, miss monorom and Hans Wu.
