It served at least one purpose. It taught the world that:
"Russian and Communist ideology" = info-shit
But I think you might understand that "Russian and Communist ideology" probably contain no more
info-shit than other ideological belief systems. The real test of the value of information, IMO,
relates to whether the information in question allows one to do something, to understand, to solve a
problem, to accomplish a goal, to satisfy a need, etc.
Information savored by the "capitalist West" apparently has done less damage to Westerners than the
info-gossip preferred by the former Soviet empire or by the North Koreans.
