Deborah Shaffer (USA) began making documentaries during the anti-Vietnam War movement, as a member of the Newsreel Collective. She made a number of films about war and human rights in Central and Latin America, including *Nicaragua: Report from the Front*, *Witness to War*, *Fire from the Mountain*, and *Dance of Hope*.
