Stefan Gandl (A) is one of the founder of Designershock , a graphic-design collective based in Berlin. Founded in late 1999, they have quickly become one outstanding producer of experimental electronic experiences on the Internet.

Designershock (DS) is an experimental platform which allows to work without the limitations of any unified philosophy. Apart from rare public performances (for example in Centre Pompidou/Paris in April 2001), 'DS' only actually existed as a unit during the irregular and short recording sessions for the book DSOS1.

DSOS1: The User's Manual DSOS1 is a manual, anthology and key to an internet world in one. 80 fonts and 4 especially written programs speak for themselves. It includes features like the 'Electronic Workmates' (an exclusive range of creative toys); the 'Electronic Playmates' (fonts and typographical games); and the 'Electronic Decomates' (screensavers, wallpapers and icons). The book comes with software which provides exclusive access to the online part of the book. 80 fonts, 10 games, 4 unique software tools and much more can be played with and downloaded here.
