Simon Carless: Nominating Expert Net Vision / Net Excellence

Simon Carless (UK) aka Hollywood aka h0l has been star in the Amiga demo scene, before he moving into game design. In the category 'Net Vision / Net Excellence' he is nominating expert for gaming, music and digital lifestyle.

Simon Carless has been rooted in the early net-communities since the beginning and has followed the development of net culture, as it has been influenced by gaming, communities and electronic music. Simon was involved in the Amiga and PC 'demo-scene' for over 10 years, under the name Hollywood, as a musician in groups like Jetset/Skid Row, Axis, and Valhalla. He writes a column for Gamasutra , the online part of Game Developer magazine, and is running his own net.music label Monotonik that since 1996 exclusively releases music online in the mp3 format.

His career in videogames started in the UK, where he was working as part of Simis/Eidos Interactive and subsequently Kuju Entertainment, where Simon designed the post-pub knockabout cultiness of 'Tank Racer' on the Sony Playstation, and then helped create 'Looney Tunes Racing', also for Playstation at Infogrames, USA. He now works for Circus Freak , a very unique game development studio, specialized in larger-than-life characters, bleeding-edge technology and above all, really fun gameplay for next-generation console platforms.
