Peter J. Bentley (GB) is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, University College London (UCL). His research investigates evolutionary algorithms, ecological modelling, artificial immune systems, computational embryology and swarming systems, applied to diverse applications including design, control, fraud detection, security, and music composition. He is editor of the books "Evolutionary Design by Computers" and "Creative Evolutionary Systems", and author of the popular science book "Digital Biology".

She is responsible for overseeing the EFF's overall legal strategy. EFF has been actively involved in nearly all areas where civil liberties are impacted online. Ms. Cohn also serves on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Human Rights Advocates.

Erkki Huhtamo (SF /USA). Associate Professor, UCLA. Researcher, Writer & Curator. Specialities include media archaeology and the history of media art. Books (in Finnish) include "The Archaeology of Virtuality" (1995), "The Archaeology of the Moving Image" (1996) and "Phantasmagoria" (2000). Curator of many exhibitions. Member of media festival organizing committees and juries.

Friedrich Kittler (D) is one of Germany's leading media theorists. He is professor of Media History and Aesthetics at Humboldt University-Berlin's Institute for Aesthetics.

Gerfried Stocker (A). Media artist and engineer; since 1995 artistic director of the Ars Electronica Center; together with Christine Schöpf artistic co-director of Ars Electronica sine 1996.
