Tausende autonome responsive Software-Organismen reagieren auf Veränderungen in ihrer Datenwelt. Keine der Strukturen, die durch diese Interaktion entstehen, sind programmiert und vorhersagbar. Jeder Organismus besteht aus zwei Text-Files in C++, die in jeweils einen Pixel umgesetzt wurden. Diese Bildelemente bewegen und verändern sich kontinuierlich durch die Informationen des Netzwerks. Drei sechs Meter hohe Prints und eine Installation mit der HairyRed-Software.
Casey Reas (USA) is an associate professor at the newly established Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in northern Italy. With Ben Fry of the MIT Media Lab, he is currently developing "Processing", a platform for learning fundamentals of computer programming within the context of the media arts. Reas' work explores kinetic systems through diverse digital media including software art, prints, animation, installations, and responsive sculpture.  back |
