Linz in Retrospect—a rich databank of graphics, texts, videos, and audio accompaniment, which invites visitors to roam at their leisure through the long and fascinating past of this city on the Danube.
In contrast to history books which concentrate on dates, famous names and important events, Linz in Retrospect deals primarily with the history of culture and everyday life. Beginning in the far distant past and the early epochs of history, users navigate through the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages on into the 19th century. Each user can plan his/her own custom-tailored itinerary on this journey through the past, confronting human being’s in their historical circumstances, ways of living, and cultures of everyday life.
