Knowledge City Map
(project by students at Fadingerstraße High School in Linz)
2006
How are traditional places of learning and knowledge acquisition responding to the novel challenges posed by lifelong learning? What new urban realms of knowledge can be pinpointed?
Students representing various age groups are combing the city in search of the “knowledge realms” of the present and future—from meeting points conducive to informal exchange all the way to chains of association, significant street names and historical spots.
Some of the efforts that have emerged from the initial phase of this project being carried out by students in Class 5C will be presented beginning January 13, 2006 in the Ars Electronica Center and on the WikiMap. The next phase, which deals with a meeting of European students in Linz, is entitled “Generation SIX” and runs until May 2006.
