What does heroism represent in a day and age when war, great deeds and pathos come across as parts of an endlessly circulating virtual show? Action Half Life thematicizes this question in the form of a photographic travesty featuring grotesque caricatures of the popular pictorial worlds of Hollywood and computer games. The title is derived from the name of a real computer game. The lead characters are played by young people in the Sinai Desert, which is also where parts of Star Wars was filmed. Their weapons are replicas of those killing machines that have been tried-and-true performers on numerous virtual battlefields.
