Revolving Black Hole

'Hideyuki Hashimoto Hideyuki Hashimoto

Revolving Black Hole is an interactive installation featuring a black hole. The Behaviour of objects and field around a black hole are visualized and projected on a round screen made of stretchable cloth. A viewer controls the speed of rotation of a black hole with a sensor. The mass of the black hole increases as the speed of rotation increases. At the same time the screen is stretched representing the change of the field. Objects are emitted from the rim of the screen as a viewer touches it. The field where the object is decides the acceleration of the object. According to the speed of rotation of the black hole and the initial condition of the objects, the characteristic of its trajectory varies. The viewer can control and observe the dynamically changing field and objects travelling around a rotating black hole.
