Madel crafts his sleek works from printed circuit-boards, iced displays, speakers, infrared sensors, and other electronic components and subcomponents; he imbues his objects with complex sets of responses to viewer inputs, addressing the blurred distinctions between interaction and relationship and between coercion and invitation.
