Josef Anton Riedl:
"VIELLEICHT IST ES SO – LAUTKOMPOSITION“

(First performance), Radiofonie (1984)

Two different blocks of basic material are the foundations of the radiophonic piece "Vielleicht ist es so—Lautkomposition" ("It may be like that—Sound Composition"): Sounds, groups of sounds and words from the sentence "Vielleicht ist es so, vielleicht ist es aber auch nicht so" ("It may be like that, but it may also not be like that") from Georg Büchner's "Leonce and Lena" as well as sounds and groups of sounds from a broadcasting magazine.

With this material new sounds, sound groups, words and sentences have been constructed for a couple of pieces.

Those pieces, e.g. sound poems, partially in connection with clapping, with percussion and with instrument imitating animals, both soloistic and in choruses, as well as the radiophonic piece were only intended to give me an opportunity to "rhyme" music by using these special sounds and noises. Here are two phrases from a "sound poem" to Büchner's sentence:

lob-vob-rob-chob?
not-sot-bot-rot.
bob?
tob.
sob.
nob?
lotchobvot.
illtnen-ne:

rins-tseerch-tserch, stevbotlat ebenerichlotet?
srauto richtsachs?
nest-eba?
