border rescue
2002
Social Impact (AT)
Migration pressure is rising, and the EU is reacting with
more rigorous control of its external borders. A subversive
answer to the exclusion of various industrial regions of the
world, border rescue finds hiding places in Fortress
Europe. The project defines itself not only as a form of
actionist protest against the EU’s rigid immigration policy
but also as a strategy to get around the oversimplified
explanatory patterns of political policymakers. The methods
used by border rescue are meant to set an example;
their adaptation and continuation by others is expressly
encouraged.
