Klimakonverter is an on-site and online installation that
brings both objective data about the weather as well as
the subjective data that results after processing by and
presentation in the mass media into a sensory experiential
context. The objective data and sonagrams of the moderation
of worldwide TV weather shows are visualized and
translated into an artificial climate; “talking about the
weather” is initiated as a way of playing with the installation.
The visualization of the converted climate generates
a world climate map set up especially for this purpose on
the WWW, whereby particular attention is paid to countries
in which the climate is a political factor of considerable
importance.
