Biographie

Born 1955 in Germany. Studied media techniques (production and design), later on planning and realization of a TV-studio for a publishing company specializing in medicine; takes over studio/broadcasting direction PKS at SAT 1 TV. Benny Weiler produces features as well as publicity and industrial spots. Since the end of 1985 has concentrated on the creation of synthetic imagery and animations. He is managing partner of UNIT SEVEN Film/TV/ Video Ltd. in Mannheim, a company specializing in the production of synthetic 3-D images and animations to be used in publicity spots, scientific and Industriel movies, fiction, simulation, trailer design for TV-stations or broadcasts, logo-animations and special effects for the cinema. Amongst others the UNIT SEVEN team designed the discus thrower of the Los Angeles Olympic Games leader tape, which won the Grand Prix Parigraph 85.

For Prix Ars Eletronica 87, Benny Weiler/UNIT SEVEN presented a demo reel with three computer-animations about science and industry.
The animations were produced on a BULL SPS/9-60 and a Gould 32/9780 computers and the IRIS 3130 workstation and E+S PS 300.
