HONORARY MENTION
tell Plurabelle
Christian Diendorfer

Explanation of Signs and Description of the performance (The pianist stands while playing)

The tape-piece "tell Plurabelle’’ is a complete piece by itself, even without the live-piano part. The score for piano is designed as a live-part for a concert performance of "tell Plurabelle" and should therefore be performed with the tape.

Piano set-up:

India rubber between the respective strings.

Model A is repeated constantly from 2 '45" through 5' from the beginning of the tape.

The strings of the tone should be touched with one finger of the right hand upon striking the key (cf. guitar harmonics), so that only the overtones can be heard clearly. The position of the finger is at random and may be changed every time.

Push string further down.

Model B The five patterns noted are played in any arbitrary sequence with a break of 1-3 seconds between patterns from 5' 50" to 7'30" of the tape.

The left hand damps the strings in the piano by putting the whole palm on the strings within the area marked (noisily percussive).

Model C is repeated from 9'11" until the end of the piece at 10'25" (the tape voice "off" ends the music).
Tape and live sound should be approximately balanced in dynamics.
