The Mouse and the Contact Pen draw and paint the upright image in the place of chalks and brushes.
Energy in the place of matter. I do, as if I were drawing on a surface and just push the bottons, the stream of the image appearing on the screen beneath. It's fascinating to know that your immaterial image rests in the disk's memory. The transparency is taken off the screen and hands itself on to the hardcopy. Within myself dots, lines, areas, plasticity and space are also feeling the working medium computer, the calculation. The computer image as an individual field of energy reaches the spectator through a network. The memory makes the network-user his own museum director. The evolutionary impact of computerization outdoes the invention of oil painting. Never the Arts were a re-production, but a game with spirit and emotion, they ARE spirit and emotion. The new image, inspired by the computer, is in the air in the most proper sense of the word. (J. Jascha)
