Computer technology enables the composer to experiment for the first time in the area of micro-tonality. When working with micro-tonality, the unexpected learning capacities of the human brain become visible. Questions of a european tradition of acoustical perception are as unjustified as the (wrong) presupposition of a disposition of our auditive apparatus. Experiences in the use of microtonal modalities reconfirm the interaction with consciousness and point towards a limiting dynamic that is in a close connection with chromatics. The physical aspect of the sound is added the spiritual-psychical aspect of interval structure. And it is the space between the sound events that induces a transformation of consciousness. (A.
