Ito’s wife is murdered in a plot to discredit him so that the Yagyu Clan can take his coveted position ... He decides not only to not commit seppuku (ritual suicide to save face), but vows instead to take revenge on the entire Yagyu clan and restore his family’s good name …

He thus goes out with his infant son as an “Assassin at the crossroads of Hell” ... CUB is my take on what would happen after Diagoro has reached manhood, continuing on his fathers mission of justice ...
