Rhapsody in Light and Blue

The animation Rhapsody in Light and Blue simulates the lighting effects in an indoor
pool lit by multiple light sources both above and beneath the water.
The combination of various colors of light and the turning on and off of the light make this animation active.
A festival of light is held in an indoor swimming pool in the night. Various kinds of light are set both on the walls and under the water. Each light turns on and off in its own way.
The light is reflected and refracted on the surfaces of the water; the light is scattered and absorbed in the water, and shadows are cast on water surfaces.
To render photo-realistic images including water region, many latest techniques based on optical phenomena, such as scattering and absorption of light, are employed.» (Hideo Yamashita/Eihachiro Nakamae)
