Ben Stassen (B), License in Communication Sciences, Louvain (Belgium), Master in Fine Arts in Film Production at University of Southern California, Los Angeles, (1982-1985). Producer/writer, "The Devil's Mine" (1993), a 70 mm Showscan Thrill Ride, the most awarded ride film, including Prix Ars Electronica.
"Astro Canyon Coaster" is a HDTV ride film, produced for Taito Corporation, Japan, and distributed outside Japan by Thomson Training & Simulation. The film takes us in a roller coaster ride in a Grand Canyon-like environment somewhere in outer space. The film is entirely produced in CGI in high resolution at 30 fps. The production took 3 months for a team of 5 people to complete. It is playing in simulators around the world.
